Another opportunity to join local canal enthusiast, Trevor Langley, for a short return coach journey and guided tow-path tour of some of the remarkable features of the canals and waterway infrastructure in the Warwick area. Trevor will reflect on the financing, design and construction of these canals, as well as their use and impact on the community. How did canals transform this area and, ultimately, enable the safe transportation of local produce and manufactured goods?
Trevor’s tour has been a sell-out feature of the Warwick Words History Festivals since 2016 – come and find out why!
Please bring walking boots, a packed lunch and a torch. There are steps, slopes and narrow paths to negotiate and so we regret that this event is not suitable for wheelchairs or those with mobility difficulties.
NB: the coach will depart promptly at 12 noon and return to Warwick at around 3.00 pm.
